My HP Z1 desktop computer bypasses the BIOS settings and UEFI Firmware settings screens. Here are the things I've tried to access these screens, which have ALL Failed to resolve this issue. NOTE: I'm using a wired keyboard.
1. Press F10 repeatedly when I power on the computer.
2. Press ESC repeatedly when I power on the computer.
3. Press F2 repeatedly when I power on the computer.
4. Press F11 repeatedly when I power on the computer.
5. Press F12 repeatedly when I power on the computer.
6. Tried to boot from a bootable disk (DVD, and USB). The computer ignores these disks (I suspect its configured to ignore the DVD and USB drives during boot up).
7. Updated the BIOS to the lastest version via the HP support site.
8. Reset the CMOS.
9. Accessed the Windows Recovery Advanced Startup options menus. I can get to the menus but none of the options run, including but not limited to UEFI Firmware settings, Use a Device (to boot the computer), Display the Commany Prompt (for advanced diagnostics), Fix Windows Startup etc. Any option I choose results in the same behavior -- The computer screen goes black, and the computer never reboots.
10. Scan the computer for any corrupt system files, and fixed the files.
11. Contacted HP customer support.
12. Confirmed that computer is up-to-date with all Windows updates.
I've spent hours searching the Internt for any other possible fixes. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks.
