This HP printer driver (presumed to be Hewlett-Packard - USB - 4/8/2019 12:00:00 AM - 1.0.0.237) ... repeatedly attempts to install/reinstall itself, and Windows is never able to resolve its legitimacy. Mostly, it stays pending in the Windows Update facility and never clears. And please don't give me a bunch of crap about how I should be editing the Windows Registry, or executing obscure interfaces to plunge deep into the Windows internals to somehow "disable" the update for this defect! Please ... just don't.
Windows 10, Windows 11.
This interaction between the HP USB interface and Windows has been a problem for several years now. I have never seen this error with other manufacturer's drivers ... it certainly seems that this error is an HP USB interface problem. Perhaps a noncompliance to the rules for Windows Update support. HP needs to fix this obnoxious behavior.
The software in question belongs to HP.
For the record, I'm running an entirely standard copy of Windows 11 Pro. There is literally NOTHING custom about it. I'm certain, based on a simple internet search for the key "Hewlett-Packard - USB - 4/8/2019 12:00:00 AM - 1.0.0.237" that there are thousands and thousands of HP printer users experiencing this annoying defect.
HP technical services ... PLEASE FIX!
