I have a Victus by HP 16.1 inch gaming laptop 16-d1009nt running Windows 11 home version 10.0.22621 build 22621. The laptop is only 2 months old and touchpad all of a sudden stopped working. In device manager I see an error under the Human Interface Devices:
I2C HID Device - this device cannot start (Code 10) a request for the HID descriptoor failed.
I have tried the following:
Uninstalling the problem driver and restarting.
Uninstalled all the HID devices and restarting.
Checking for any updates on Windows Update.
Looked for the specific driver on HP website but could not find it.
Gone through the automated HP Support Assistant online.
Microsofts trouble shooter detects the problem and says it is fixed but after the restart it still persists.
All of the above does not resolve the issue. I am not sure if this started after a Windows update so I do not know which update to uninstall if it was one causing the issue. Please could someone help.
