I bought a HP ProDesk 405 G4 with a Ryzen Pro 5 2400GE CPU.
The computer has an AMD B350 chipset.
It looks like that officially there is only support for Ryzen 2000 CPUs (and some slower Athlons).
I know that PC mainboards with the same B350 chipset support Ryzen 3000 and Ryzen 5000 CPUs as well as Ryzen 4000 APUs. So it is probably just a matter of a BIOS update that adds support for these CPUs.
I have installed the latest BIOS that was release this fall.
Has anyone tried a more recent CPU with the HP 405 G4? Which CPUs can work? In particular the Ryzen 5 5600GE would be an interesting upgrade.
