Notebook Video, Display and Touch

I loved my HP Pavilion Power 15t laptop but began having problems with the touchpad. It was an older model and I wasn't able to find a new touchpad, so I bought an HP Envy 17 with Windows 11. I hated Windows 11 so i returned it and bought an HP Envy 17 ch200 (Product number: 646R0UA#ABA) with Windows 10,  expanded memory (32 GB), and expanded SSD storage (2 TB). The touchpad is way too sensitive. Sometimes something as light as the cuff on my sleeve is interpreted as a touch and causes all kinds of issues, depending on what I am doing and where the cursor is at the time. I have tried changing the sensitivity in Touchpad settings and ran the driver update process in Device Manager (best driver already installed) but haven't seen any improvement. I also checked the HP support pages for an updated driver but the only drivers there are for Windows 11. The installed driver is Synaptics Precision Touchpad Filter Driver version 19.5.35.78. Any suggestions on how to resolve this problem? I really prefer using the Touchpad over a mouse.

It just occurred to me that although the touchpad is usually too sensitive, it frequently isn't responsive when I try to use one finger drag. I use this function a lot in Publisher and also with Audacity when I am digitizing vinyl and cassettes. This had also become a problem with the Pavilion.
