Yes, my laptop is old. Yes, it is out of warranty. But, it still works for what I need. A few days ago, I noticed the dreaded bottom lid separation from the the laptop and I knew. As soon as I started to pull the screws out of the bottom, the lid just about jumped off the laptop from the stress. It is a wonder the screws didn't just strip out from the force. These batteries most certainly should have been recalled. I had 2 of these models and the other one died a long time ago. I pulled the battery and put it next to this one and you can see the difference. Even that battery has 1 cell starting to puff. If this didn't start a fire, it would most certainly ruin your laptop if left alone. Not acceptable.
