HP Spectre x360 Convertible Laptop PC 14-ea0023dx

 

Bought a LG UltraWide 35WN65C 35" monitor and a display port to USB C wire. However, the monitor isn't detecting my laptop. 

 

I've tried updating my display drivers, rebooting BIOs, looking at registry editor and changing some of the settings but nothing is getting my external monitor to detect my laptop. When I connect the wire, it appears that my laptop is trying to make the connection but nothing is working. Please advise. I will try to utilize a HDMI to USBC wire next but not too sure if this will resolve the issue.
