Hi, My son uses a HP Pavillion, when he came back to his laptop he had a message to shut down and restart, which he did. However while the Laptop was starting up this message appeared:
The Operating system did not shutdown cleanly
Reconstructing Cache metadata
Please do not interrupt this process
Reading Packed Metadata into memory ....Done
Processing Delta log record...... 46644
Failed to read Delta Log
Press <ESC> to continue.
When I press escape I get this message: Abnormal status reported by Rapid storage Technology UEFI driver.
I then went through to recovery area, troubleshoot and attempted to:
1) run start up repair - Error message to say startup repair cannot be completed.
2) undo updates - cannot be undone
3) Restore point - no restore points at all
4) open command prompt - scanned sfc and was able to fix errors. PC reboots and I get same message as at the start.
5)Change UEFI settings - Cannot run
I have created a window 11 iso usb, the installation begins but then cannot find any volumes on the disk. I then downloaded a file as .exe from hp with driver to allow drive partitions to show and no volumes can be seen, youtube videos show a different zip file being used from intel site but these seem to have been removed and updated with the .exe file I used. I also used the HP version of this file too, neither allowed the partitions on the drive to show and so the clean install could not progress further. I have run a detailed HP diagnostic scan which the hard drive passed as well as all other parts passed. I then tried updating the bios file from HP which completed successfully. I could still not load the recovery tools properly.
Also there seems to be options in the recovery screen missing, most importantly no option to reset PC I am also not able to start the pc in safemode!
I would be grateful for any help as I am at a complete loss now and stuck in a loop!
