Hi all,
I have a HP Pavilion Gaming 15 (dk-0096-wm). I am the first owner and have had this laptop since 2021. Out of the Box the system comes with i5 9th gen 9300H, 256GB SSD, 8GB ram and 4GB dedicated graphics (Nvidia GTX1650). Very first upgrade i have done is adding an additional 1TB HDD in the available slot to increase storage.
From day 1 it has been having issues while gaming. Irrespective of the game, system keeps crashing. The time it takes to crash varies at times. Sometimes it was within 5 minutes, sometimes after a couple of hours. Initially felt it was the maybe due to heating, but when I started to keep an eye on the temps realized it wasn't that. System used to crash at times even when the temps were just 60-70. Then felt later maybe the RAM is the Choking point, tried running it with an 8+2 GB setup. It reduced any lag in the gameplay but issue used to still occur.
This let me down from trying to game on the system for quite sometime. Kept on using the system for daily usage for most of the time till now.
Recently i have been back at trying to game on this system. Got an additional 8GB RAM. Right now running it with a 8+8GB setup. System still crash while trying to game.
It always crashes in the same manner. once the game has been running for sometime, screen suddenly freezes. Whatever sound also playing at that moment also freezes and creates a buzzing Sound. All buttons on keyboard becomes unresponsive. Only way to get back to normal is by hard resetting with the power button.
It so disappoint to own a gaming laptop and not be able to game with it at all. Even games that ran in my old laptop with much lower specs (1TB HDD, 12GB RAM, 2GB Nvidia GT635M, i5 3rd gen) are causing my system to crash.
Could someone suggest any solutions for this problem???
