HP Recommended

I have a company laptop that im trying to make personal. The company is giving me the run around with unlocking. Ive tried master resetting it but its asking for a recovery key. Ive been told if i cant get the recovery key i need to do a full usb clean and reinstall windows. Someone else told me it has a bitlocker and hp should be able to give me the key. Im not sure but can someone help.
