HP Pavilion Elite m9351
Microsoft Windows Vista

Hello, my desktop computer has suddenly decided to not turn on after a couple hours of being left alone.

Here is everything I have done on the computer up to this point:

I reinstalled Vista on the computer from a DVD. I tried to install Service Pack 1. It got to Stage 3 out of 3 100%, and then said that the Service Pack did not install, reverting changes. It then failed to boot into Vista, saying a necessary file was missing/corrupt. I decided to go have a sleep and try to sort it out later.

A couple hours later (2 hours approximately), I woke up and went to turn on the PC, but it wouldn’t turn on. I checked the back of the computer, and the power supply light was not glowing green anymore. I’ve tried a different power cable and plug socket to power the PC with no change.

The computer was working absolutely fine with no errors or instability in Windows before.

Does anybody know what could’ve happened?

My system is a HP Pavilion Elite m9351.uk

Edit: Here is the system in question on HP’s website:hp-pavilion-elite-m9300-desktop-pc-series
