When I say it doesn't stay asleep, it's not that it's waking up.  PC goes into sleep mode as it should.  The power light is blinking, as it should.  I return after some time (an hour or so) and I see the power light is on solid.  I try to wake the pc with mouse and/or keyboard to no avail.  II press the power button(as if to power on the machine); it also does nothing.  I have to push and hold the power button for ten or so seconds until the power light goes off.  I can then press the power button again and it comes on (Hard restart). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have been told that newer PCs use a hybrid sleep mode that is unreliable.  If that be true, I cannot imagine i am the only one that has experienced this problem.

I am not willing to accept that this is the way the sleep mode is and that's it.  Please help me find a solution.

Thanks
