HP Recommended

Downloaded hp bios update from the hp website. Using hp detect to detect my pc.. 

Got my laptop then downloaded the latest bios i could have gotten it was dated 2024 bios and I had a 2021 bios. Loaded it up the bios uefi did not give me a option to accept the bios update or cancel it just started. Then computer restarted then saw flashing boot block.. next thing I know when it's finished.  No restart nothing black screen with no blinks or anything. Why have this happened. Why have hp set up a bios to brick.my laptop
