Every time that I restart my PC I get an HP Display Control "critical update needed" messsage. I have downloaded the update multiple times, successfully completing the whole process, and yet the message continues to appear. Each time the update is identical. HP Display Control Service: Version 4.9.25.0: sp145659: effective date 03/30/2023
HP suppport assistant is entirely useless. The PC works perfectly. So not such a "critical " update. Just very annoying.

Users report that new update fails or keep showing pop even after successfull installation. Ignore or disable, Open Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc), go to Startup tab, find "HP Display Control" or "HPDC_Service", disable it, then restart. This stops popups without losing functionality. You can manually check it again after sometime when newer version available to install latest one if you want.
