HP OmniDesk Desktop AI PC M03-0000i (A9UU1AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I am trying to get more information on the Motherboard in my HP OmniDesk Desktop AI PC M03-0173t PC. Specifically I want to know if I can install an additional SSD in a spare M.2 Slot. Other information about the motherboard would also be useful, like is the CPU in a socket or is it soldered in.

Thanks

Below is the link to the motherboard specifications your PC comes with:

HP Desktop PCs - Mentali2 system board specifications | HP® Support

When you look at the motherboard specs, you have to assume that you are looking at a bare motherboard with nothing installed.

That means since the specs indicate that there is a M.2 slot for a Wi-Fi adapter and a M.2 slot for a SSD, and both of those slots are occupied with both in your PC, there isn't an additional slot to add another SSD.

Hello again Paul,

Thanks for the information. Yes I see that both slots are occupied. Perhaps one option is to remove the WiFi adapter and replace it with another SSD. I currently do not use Wi-Fi, and I am hard wired to ethernet.

Thanks

You're very welcome, Darrel.

It is highly unlikely that the M.2 Wi-Fi card slot supports NVMe SSDs or it would have been labeled accordingly.

There are some HP business class notebooks that support that feature.

If you want to experiment with a M.2 2230 NVMe SSD you can try one with the understanding that it probably will not work.

Thanks Paul, I may look at this down the road, but for now I have every thing I need
