@Rockynakamoto, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Since you've already tried multiple steps, let's go over some advanced troubleshooting for your HP Chromebook's sound issue.

Basic Checks (If Not Done Already)

Volume & Mute Settings: Click on the time in the bottom-right corner and ensure the volume isn't muted or too low.

Try Different Media: Check if sound works in other apps/websites like Spotify or a different YouTube video.

Reboot Chromebook: Restart your device completely.

Advanced Troubleshooting

Check Output Device:

Click the time > Click the audio settings > Ensure the correct speaker or output device is selected.

Reset Audio Settings in Chrome:

Open Chrome and go to chrome://flags/#enable-media-session-service

Set it to Disabled, then restart your Chromebook.

Check for Extensions Conflicts:

Disable all Chrome extensions (chrome://extensions/) and test YouTube again.

Try Guest Mode:

Sign out of your account > Click Browse as Guest > Try playing a YouTube video.

Powerwash (Factory Reset, Last Resort)

Go to Settings > Advanced > Reset settings > Powerwash (This will reset your Chromebook to factory settings).

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
