@UTKARSH43, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand how frustrating it can be when your Ethernet connection drops after a few minutes. Since you've already tried resetting network settings and confirmed the LAN cable and port are working fine, let's go through a few targeted steps to help resolve this issue:

Update Network Adapter Driver

Outdated or incompatible drivers can cause intermittent disconnections.

  • Go to Device ManagerNetwork Adapters
  • Right-click your Ethernet adapter (usually named Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller or similar)
  • Select Update driverSearch automatically for updated driver

Alternatively, you can download the latest driver from HP: Official HP® Support

Tip: Make sure to select your exact laptop model and Windows version.

Disable Power Saving for Ethernet Adapter

Windows may turn off the adapter to save power.

  • Open Device Manager
  • Right-click your Ethernet adapter → Properties
  • Go to the Power Management tab
  • Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

Check for IP Conflicts or DHCP Lease Issues

Sometimes, the IP lease from your router may expire or conflict with another device.

  • Open Command Prompt and run:ipconfig /release ipconfig /renew
  • You can also try assigning a static IP address via:
    • Control PanelNetwork and Sharing CenterChange adapter settings
    • Right-click Ethernet → PropertiesInternet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)Use the following IP address

Run HP Network Check Tool

HP provides a built-in diagnostic tool to identify and fix network issues.

BIOS and Chipset Update

Sometimes, BIOS or chipset updates improve hardware compatibility.

  • Visit your laptop’s support page: Official HP® Support
  • Download and install the latest BIOS and Intel Chipset drivers

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
