I understand how frustrating it is when your HP ENVY 6458e prints blank pages, especially when you need it to work reliably. Let’s walk through the most effective recommended steps to fix this issue.

Steps to Fix Blank Page Printing

1. Check Ink Levels

  • Open the HP app or look at the printer’s control panel
  • Make sure both black and color cartridges have sufficient ink


2. Clean the Printhead

  • In the HP app: 
    • Tap your printer > Tools or Settings
    • Select Print Quality Tools
    • Choose Clean Printhead
  • This clears dried ink or clogs that can cause blank pages


3. Check Cartridge Installation

  • Open the cartridge access door
  • Remove and reseat both cartridges
  • Make sure they’re genuine HP cartridges and properly snapped into place


4. Print a Diagnostic Page

  • Press and hold the Information button for 3 seconds
  • Then press the Resume and Cancel buttons at the same time
  • A Print Quality Diagnostic Page will print a check for missing colors or streaks


5. Update Firmware


6. Try a Different App or File

  • Sometimes the issue is with the document or app
  • Try printing a different file or from a different app (e.g., Word, HP app, or a browser)
