 To better understand the situation, Could you kindly confirm the below details : 

Could you kindly share the exact model of your HP laptop or device? 

When you plug in the charger, do you see any charging light indicator on the device?

Have you tried using a different power outlet or adapter to rule out a faulty connection?

Have you noticed any error messages ?
 

With the above details, I’ll be able to suggest the specific steps for you.
