Need help finding your product number? We've got you covered! Check out this handy guide: Click here
To access your private messages, simply click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Support Community profile, next to your profile name.
Meanwhile you can try these steps:
Use Keyboard Shortcuts (to Navigate Without Mouse)
Until the mouse cursor is back, you can use keyboard shortcuts to navigate:
- Press Tab to move through options and Enter to select.
- Use the Arrow Keys to scroll and select items.
Visit HP Support Website
Open your web browser and go to the official HP support website:
HP Support
Identify Your HP Product:
- If you have an HP laptop or desktop, enter your model number or let HP automatically detect your device by selecting "Find My Product".
- If you don’t know your model number, you can find it on a sticker on the back of your laptop or under your desktop.
- Alternatively, you can click "Choose a product" and select your HP model from the list.
Go to Drivers & Downloads:
- Once you’ve selected your device, click on Drivers & Downloads.
- Select "Windows 10" as your operating system if it isn’t automatically detected.

Download the Mouse or Pointing Device Driver
Scroll to the "Driver-Keyboard, Mouse, and Input Devices" Section:
- Look for the section specifically related to mice, touchpad, or pointing device drivers.
Download the Driver:
- Find the appropriate driver for your mouse or touchpad. This may vary depending on your device model, so look for Synaptics, ELAN, or Windows Precision Driver if it's a laptop with a touchpad.
- Click on Download to download the driver installer.
Install the Driver:
- Once the download is complete, open the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver.
- After the installation, restart your computer.
Use HP Support Assistant
If you're having trouble manually finding the driver, you can use HP's HP Support Assistant application, which can automatically detect missing drivers and update your system:
Download HP Support Assistant from the HP website:
HP Support Assistant Download
Install the software and open it.
Run a Diagnostic:
- Once opened, go to the "Updates" tab and check for any available updates.
- If there are updates for your mouse or pointing device, it will show up here, and you can install them directly.

Windows Update
If you still can’t find the driver or prefer an automatic option, try using Windows Update to check for missing drivers:
- Press Win + I to open Settings.
- Go to Update & Security > Windows Update.
- Click Check for Updates.
- If any mouse or touchpad driver is available, it should automatically be installed.
