hp hardware dignostic is doing this when i run disk read verify, before this i turned of bitlocker encrytpion and decrytped it and used third party software to divide and merge the disk space but i have deleted it now.
I used AOMEI software for disk partition and before that I tried software named Easeus and it actually turned of Bitlocker encryption and also decrypted(It is what it was showing).

Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like the HP Hardware Diagnostics tool is crashing when running a Disk Read Verify test, which could be related to the recent disk partition changes and BitLocker decryption. Here’s what you can do to troubleshoot.
Check Disk Health (Manually)
- Open Command Prompt (Admin) and run:
chkdsk /f /r - It may ask to schedule the scan on reboot—type Y and restart.
Check for Disk Errors in Windows
- Open File Explorer → Right-click the main drive (C:) → Properties.
- Go to Tools → Click Check under Error Checking.
Reinstall HP Hardware Diagnostics
- If the tool crashes, it might be corrupted. Reinstall it from HP’s official website.
Run S.M.A.R.T Check
- Open Command Prompt (Admin) and type:
wmic diskdrive get status - If it shows anything other than OK, the disk might have issues.
Test the Drive in BIOS Diagnostics
- Restart your laptop and press F2 repeatedly to enter HP Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI).
- Run the System Tests → Hard Drive Test from the BIOS.
Reset Windows Disk Management
- Open Disk Management (Win + X → Disk Management).
- Check if the partitions are set correctly.
- If any partition is labeled as "RAW" or "Unallocated," you may need to format or repair it.
Check for Corrupted System Files
- Run SFC and DISM scans:
sfc /scannow
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
Check Event Viewer Logs
- Open Event Viewer (Win + X → Event Viewer).
- Look under Windows Logs > System for any disk-related errors.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
