Hi @Ramon28,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding applications on your laptop getting closed!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try the following steps:

Prevent PowerPoint from Closing on Sleep

  • Go to Power Options:
    1. Press Win + X > Select Power Options.
    2. Click Additional power settings (on the right side).
    3. Click Change plan settings (next to your selected power plan).
    4. Set "Put the computer to sleep" to Never (for testing).

Change Sleep Settings for PowerPoint

  • Open PowerPoint, then:
    1. Click File > Options > Save.
    2. Enable AutoRecover every X minutes.
    3. Change Keep the last autosaved version if I close without saving to ON.
    4. Click OK and restart PowerPoint.

Repair or Reinstall Microsoft Office

Repair Office:

  1. Open Control Panel > Programs and Features.
  2. Find Microsoft Office, right-click, and select Change.
  3. Choose Quick Repair (or Online Repair if that doesn’t work).

Reinstall Office:

  1. Uninstall Office from Control Panel > Programs & Features.
  2. Restart your laptop.
  3. Download and reinstall from Microsoft Office website.

Check for Windows & Office Updates

  • Windows Update:
    1. Press Win + I > Go to Windows Update.
    2. Click Check for updates.
  • Office Update:
    1. Open PowerPoint > Click File > Account.
    2. Click Update Options > Update Now.

Try these and let me know what works! 😊

I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?"—your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster! 👍

Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀
