We are proud to announce we have achieved a new sustainability milestone on another Poly headset! Read more about our commitment to sustainability!

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi there,

I just received a pair of Poly Voyager Surround 85 UC headset, and it seems the Sidetone cannot be turned off which makes them useless if you want to listen to music on a lower volume and also to speak with someone for example.

Poly Lens app allows me only to set the Sidetone to Low, but not to disable it completely which is really odd.

I tried everything on Windows 11 and Windows 10 to disable the Sidetone from the PC but it simply does not work.

I read every thread and post on the internet about Sidetone and I cannot figure this out.

I really want to enjoy the full exeprience of this headset, to join a Discord conversation without hearing myself. The bad part is that is also deacresing the volume and sound quality of other backround apps that are running.

It's a 400$ headset and I was expecting to be able to turn the Sidetone off as not everyone wants it or needs it, so in my point of view we should be able to set this to off, not to oblige the users to use this specific setting.

If anyone has a solution to this one kindly assist.

Have a wonderful day ahead!

Hello, @JMIhail, and welcome to the HP Poly community.

I am really sorry for the issue you are facing with Poly Voyager Surround 85 UC.

Sidetone: the level can be changed under the Poly lens, but it cannot be completely disabled However, you can change settings in Windows and also mute all other sounds.

Hello Meghana, thank you for your reply.

Unfortunately the only solution I see in this case would be for Poly to include in the next Net Framework update or Device Driver the possibility to Disable the Sidetone.

From my point of view a lot of customers are being lost due to this incovenience. I would like to use this type of Headset for Office & personal use as well.
