So I just bought an HP 255 G5. It works really well but as I went to open the disk drive to put a dvd in it it starts making a series of sounds that sound like dubstep and does not open. I've tried to open it several times, and I've even tried pulling on it a little bit but to no avail. Has this happened to anyone else??

Hi,

There should be a small pin hole on the drive where you can take a thin clip and push inside to open the drive. See if it works. Fortunately the DVD drive is cheap and easy to replace. If it continues to not work, just replace it. You can see how it is done in service manual on page 39.

You can find used ones and new on ebay for 10-15 dollars. You can also use any generic 9.5mm laptop drive and change the front face plate.

Hope it helps,

David
