Hello, does anyone know if a resolution of 5120 x 1440 is supported (AMD Ryzen 5 5650U)? Where can I find information which HP notebooks would work with the Samsung display?

Hello, in the meantime I was able to get access to both (the notebook 5Z621EA#ABD and the display).

It is possible to switch to 5120 x 1440 @ 60 Hz in HDR (10 bit) if you configure the display/dock to high reolution. As you may know the display also includes a dock function (USB Hub with power delivery and Ethernet port). At the above resolution the Ethernet speed was measured to be around 120 Mbit/s.

You can switch the display/dock to high speed. In that mode the Ethernet speed was measured to be around 1 Gbit/s (which is the value it is rated for). The resolution is still 5120 x 1440  @ 60 Hz but only in SDR (6 bit).

Machine has

(2) USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A 5 Gbps signaling rate (1 Charging)
(2) USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C 10 Gbps signaling rate (USB Power Delivery, DisplayPort 1.4)
(1) HDMI 2.0 (cable sold separately)
(1) Headphone/microphone combo jack
(1) AC power port

HDMI port won't support 5120 x 1440  at a good refreshing rate.  The USB-C ports (using DP 1.4)  in theory may give you 7680 x 4320 / 60 Hz / 10 Bit Chroma / HDR and 3840 x 2160 / 120 Hz / 10 Bit Chroma / HDR.

AMD Ryzen 5 5650U is NOT on the above picture.

Regards.
