is there a motherboard upgrade that can be performed on the i5 4th gen to make it windows 11 compatible.

Hi:

 

Unfortunately, there isn't.

 

You would need to buy an 840 G5 for W11.

 

If you want to try out W11 on your PC as it is, let me know, and I will post a link with instructions to bypass the W11 hardware requirements and upgrade to W11.
