Thanks for your reply and assistance.

 

What exactly does this service do?  On all the machines we've disabled the service on, we've only noticed system improvement, no one has mentioned any negative affect at all.

Fortemedia's technologies improve VoIP call experience by enhance voice quality and clarity.  This service handles interaction of different audio accessories users may plug into the system.   Long term disabling of this service is not ideal, so we suggest installing the new updated driver (component version 12.1.6003.5904 and later should have the workaround), which will reenable this service.  We regret you've experienced this issue but it was an unexpected OS behavior change and we developed a workaround as soon as we became aware of this issue.
