i would be pleasantly surprised if hp took care of the problem. At the moment I don't know how to officially inform HP about the problem.
Should a solution be necessary at some point, then I can only see the way via the Bios problem fixer around the corner.

One important item you have forgotten.

 

Installing a BIOS version that is an older version than the one that is already installed will denied by the BIOS installer.

 

That is something HP put in place back in 2012.

 

With older laptops, as in more than twelve years or so an older BIOS version can be installed.
