Elite Book HP 2570p
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

We have recently upgrade a system bios to F.70 - RevA. How can I revert to the origional one?

Well, normally something should appear on the screen but if its just blank after a few minutes, probably its back to square one where the BIOS recovery doesn't roll back to any previous versions its just the same. Capslock light blinking in a seuqnce of one i think that just means "BIOS recovery/update was succesful".

Hi,

Usually laptops and e ven desktops have the BIOS recovery option:

if the laptop is shutdown (not sleep or hibernate): press and hold Win key + B key and while holding them turn on the laptop and a BIOS recovery menu will appear. Usually this rolls back the previous BIOS update in case the newer one failed:

Alternativeley, on the software and drivers page for your product, if you go into BIOS there is only one listed, but click on the "Previous versions" and it shows you all the previous versions available.

Below you will find the link for the F.69:

Just to let you know ,you can only downgrade to a certain point; some BIOS update don't let you roll back to a previous version;

All the best;

Hello,

Just to make sure, if you heard the Fan running at high speeds, was the CapsLock also flashing ?

Part of the BIOS update is that the screen would flicker or fan would run at really high speeds.

And thank you for your reply.

Hi,

yes to all, but the screen didn't flicker.

Any idea on how long it would take ?

Thanks
