Hi @Benny53,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

We noticed that this thread hasn't had any updates in a while since your original post. While this is rare, we didn't want this post to remain unanswered, so here's the solution to your query. We hope it helps you and everyone viewing this post 😊

Thank you for the details. I understand your HP ProBook x360 11 G3 EE has no display, the Caps Lock light is blinking, and the notebook appears to power back on by itself when you try to turn it off.

The Caps Lock light can provide an important diagnostic code, but I would like to confirm the exact blink pattern before identifying the possible cause. HP uses combinations of long and short blinks for startup diagnostics.

Could you please watch the Caps Lock light carefully and let us know:

  • Is it 5 identical blinks, followed by a pause and then repeating?
  • Or is it a combination such as 3 long + 2 short, 2 long + 3 short, 3 short, etc.?
  • What color are the blinks if the light shows different colors?
  • Does the pattern repeat continuously?

In the meantime, please try BIOS Recovery
Since there is no display, try the HP BIOS recovery procedure:

  1. Connect the HP AC adapter.
  2. Make sure the notebook is powered off as much as possible.
  3. Press and hold Windows + B.
  4. While holding those keys, press and hold the Power button for 2–3 seconds.
  5. Release the Power button but continue holding Windows + B.
  6. Wait to see whether the BIOS recovery process starts.

If there is no response, repeat the procedure using Windows + V instead. HP documents these BIOS recovery methods for supported notebooks.

Also test with an external monitor
Connect the notebook to an external monitor or TV using the available display connection, then power on the notebook and check whether anything appears externally.

This will help determine whether the notebook is starting, but the issue is limited to the internal display.

Because the notebook is also turning itself back on after you attempt to power it off, please also let us know whether this happens:

  • With the AC adapter connected
  • With the AC adapter disconnected
  • Or in both situations

The exact Caps Lock blink pattern is the most important detail at this stage. Once you confirm whether it is, for example, 3 long + 2 short, 2 long + 2 short, 5 identical blinks, or another pattern, we can narrow down the possible POST/BIOS or hardware issue and provide the appropriate next steps.
