It seems I need to use this guide to make a camera work on my newly deployed HP why is that? This happens on almost every single HP we deploy company wide.

Step 1: Open Windows Settings

  1. Click the Start menu (Windows icon).

  2. Select Settings ⚙️

Step 2: Go to Bluetooth & Devices

  1. In the left sidebar, click Bluetooth & devices.

  2. Scroll down and select Cameras from the list of device options.

Step 3: Locate Your HP Camera

  1. Under Connected Cameras, find your camera, it’s labeled HP 5MP Camera.

  2. Click on the camera name to open its settings page.

Step 4: Enable the Camera

If the camera is disabled, you’ll see a “Enable” button:

  • Click Enable to turn the camera back on.

Step 5: Go to Advanced Camera Options

Click Edit

  • Click Turn on basic camera to turn the camera on.

Try to install older driver.

Must we do that to all our devices? Seems to be happening to every single device we deploy with our company image.

It appears that there is no alternative solution if an image is being used.
You may consider using a different image; however, this would require a few minutes of work per workstation. I am not sure how many computers are involved, but in any case, reinstalling the driver is a faster and more efficient option than reinstalling the entire operating system.

What's weird is that it's just disabled by default upon entering desktop at first deployment with our image. But one has to follow the guide as mentioned above for it to work and work it does for everyone who follows the guide.
