Can't find these on google, so I'm kind of lost. Installed everything I thought was necessary from the HP support website.

Thanks in advance

Those codes do not look helpful as all I found was dated 2009 which is not right.  Possibly there is a problem at that site.

I did not see any camera or webcam at your laptop software repository

Try rolling back the existing camera driver or restoring your laptop using a recovery point

Does the camera show up in the device manager? Bring up the Windows device manager and try rolling back the camera driver. Possibly a Windows update installed the wrong driver.

Did you try rolling back the camera driver?

It could be the camera driver or the USB driver if the camera is connected to the USB. Many internal cameras are connected to the USB.

In the pictures below you would select the camera driver and then look for 'rollback' If the word "rollback" is grayed out then uninstall it.

If camera driver is the problem

If the problem is the wrong USB driver for the camera

If you cannot rollback the driver then try to find the best one or let windows try. One way is to just uninstall the camera and reboot as described in this official HP document..

If uninstalling or rolling back did not work then see if there is a windows restore point that has a date from when the camera last worked.

This video describes how to use a restore point.

Let me know if this works.

Thank you for the answer.

My system is pretty fresh, installed it just a few weeks ago. The camera never worked, so I also can't roll back the driver.

It's an internal camera, showing up as "HP True Vision HD Camera" in the device manager. Uninstalling doesn't do anything because if I search for new hardware after, it just shows up again as if I didn't uninstall before. Automatic driver update doesn't find anything.

Device instance path is

USB\VID_0408&PID_5489&MI_00\7&281D0FDF&0&0000

All that is true for the Camera DFU Device entry, just that all the codes end with 02 instead of 00.

Possibly a hardware problem or no enabled in windows

Have you run diagnostics? Tap the ESC key after powering on. Tap it once a second after you see the LEDs on the keyboard flash. When you see the startup menu, press F2 to run diagnostics.

If you do not see the webcam test then update the diagnostics:

HP releases newer UEFI diagnostics periodically.
When you select F2 during boot you are requesting UEFI diagnostics.
There is an updated diagnostics package Click Here
Look for the phrase 'issues outside the OS',
Expand the'+'symbol and click the DOWNLOAD button.
The version of the UEFI diagnostics is shown at the left of that DOWNLOAD button.
When you press F2 to run diagnostics please ensure the version is the new one.

If a component fails during the UEFI test then Click here to check warranty
and Click here for world-wide contact info

Camera may not be enabled in windows.

1. Open “Settings -> Privacy -> Camera.”
2. At the top, look for “Camera access for this device is on.”
3. If it is off, click the “Change” button and turn it on.
4. Under that, check for “Allow apps to access your camera” and make sure it is On.
5. Next, look at “Choose which apps can access your camera.” Make sure apps you want to use with your camera are enabled.
6. Re-enable the device.

Make sure you have the latest Microsoft Windows updates and have also run the HP support assistant to check for updates.

If the WebCam passed diagnostics ---

1 - enter "camera" in the windows search box. An error message may appear. If so, click "Get Help". If there is no "Get Help" then read this article.

2 - Look at the keyboard function keys for a camera icon such as

BeemerBiker_0-1712839848277.png

if you see anything like that the press it and see if the camera starts working. It could also be a physical device such as a switch or a cover that closes over the lens. Some AIOs have an On Screen Display and that might have camera control for on/off. I do not have your particular system so am guessing.

Official HP camera troubleshooting guide read this.

Microsoft recommended troubleshooting windows 11, 10

3 - Try a repair of windows system files. From the administrator command prompt enter as explained below

SFC /scannow

How to use SFC or DISM to repair Windows

just do the SFC. If you see a message that corrupted files were fixed then reboot. The only time to do the DISM is if the SFC reports it found problems but cannot repair it.
