Hello

I have an HP EliteBook 840 G6. I would like to connect to a home cinema amplifier and play 7.1 sound. The HDMI port on my computer is in version 1.4, so it does not accept 7.1!
To achieve this, I would like to go through my USB-C port to an HDMI 2.1 converter and then use a cable to the amplifier. Here is an example of a converter: https://docs.rs-online.com/8b51/0900766b81525aa5.pdf

My question is whether this will work? Will my USB-C port accept hdmi 2.1?

Thank you for your reply. This sound card does not have an HDMI port so I cannot connect it to my home cinema.
Why do you say that it can't work through the USB-C port?
