HP Thunderbolt Dock 120W G2 with Audio
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,

My new dock HP Thunderbolt 120W G2 with Audio has been working well for a few days: suddenly, the audio module stopped working (the rest of the dock is ok with monitors, network, ecc fully working).

The power button works but all the other buttons only respond via haptic feedback doing nothing. Leds are all off, even the power led is off.

I'm using the Dock connected to an HP ZBook Firefly 15,6" G8 with Windows 11.

I already upgraded the computer to the latest BIOS and tried reinstalling the Realtek USB audio drivers. I tried with my colleagues HP Zbooks and no luck.

I upgraded the dock to the latest firmware version too but I only managed to see that the firmware installer doesn't detect the audio module (see attached image).

I tried to remove and connect again the audio module too.

Now I'm stuck without audio and I don't know if I can try something else before an RMA. Thank you to anyone who will help!

Hello,

I ended up contacting HP for a replacement audio module. They sent me a new one and it started working immediately.

It was definitely defective.

Hi

I have exactly the same issue. The Audio Module is not detected.

I did the same as you I tried updating the firmware too when it decided not to work

and found it was Not Detected on the firmware update screen.

It's odd!!
