I bought these item on amazon and now suspect I will have a problem using docking station. It appears laptop does not have a USB-c port. Amazon has not provided a model number. Is any one familiar with this laptop and what dock may work with it?

Laptop has arrived. Model number is 17-by1023cl. Looks like it does not have a docking port and USB is specified "data" only. Any ideas about whether there is a docking station that will work with this laptop or some way to connect external keyboard and monitors?

Hello
if for USB-C port is specified data only , it means that it's not possible to charge the notebook via USB-C.
it's not possibile to use docking that needs a USB-C port Video Alternate mode and Power Delivery.
so you use just use USB 3.0 docking or an universal docking such as HP USC-C/A Universal Dock G2.
this kind of docking work with every coputer running windows 10, either connecting it to an USB 3.x port or USB-C data only port.
Obvuously you can buy another non HP "Universal" dock
bye

I am still struggling to get my new HP 17-by1023cl laptop connected to my two new Sceptre E275W-19203R 27" monitors. One monitor will connect to the laptop HDMI port and work fine. I also purchased a Omars USB C hub HDMI docking station (which I have returned because it would not work with my laptop) The hub used a USB C connector and my laptop does not have a USB C port. I used a USB (male) to USB C {female) adapter. I am told that the USB connector on my laptop is the same spec as the USB C port except for the connector type. Apparently the only video output from the laptop is the HDMI connector and there is only one HDMI connector. Can anyone suggest how I can connect the two monitors to my laptop? I suppose I could get a HDMI spliter but both monitors would then display the same information. Apparently I need a different video card. Is this possible? Any help is appreciated.
