Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Can you tell me how can I find the drivers of a HP Elitebook 8540w for Windows 10. I want a clean install of Windows 10 on a HP EliteBook 8540w.

Maybe are there drivers on a DVD ?

Hi:

HP does not support your model for W10, so there are no W10 drivers for it from HP.

Use the W7 drivers for any devices that W10 doesn't install.

Hello Paul,

First thank you for answering On my message.
But I have an question.
Can't you download newer drivers from newer laptops who also support these laptop. Because I know that some newer laptops have drivers that are newer.

You're very welcome.

I think the only package that you might be able to use is the HP Client Security Manager software for W10 if you use the fingerprint reader.

The problem is your notebook doesn't have the same model card reader for example, as the models that came after yours.

It doesn't have the same graphics, etc.

I have the 6930p which was the model that preceeded yours and everything works fine on W10 by using the W7 drivers for anything W10 didn't install.

Mine does not have a webcam, and I don't use the fingerprint reader, although the W7 driver worked for the fingerprint reader.  Mine also has the Authentec fingerprint reader, not the validity one yours has.

In the first installation on my laptop I have used the W7-drivers for installing W10.

But and it is a big but, when you want shut down the laptop, he don't go off.

What is here the problem ?

This person had the same problem.

Solved by updating the BIOS.

The only thing is, I wouldn't update the BIOS using the windows based flash since it was not written for W10.

After updating the bios, there is nothing changed. The same problem. Will not close.
