Hello!
I have an EliteBook 840 G6 laptop that does not turn on, with the battery connected, when the power bottom is pressed, the caps lock LED blinks 7 times, the charger led is solid white and nothing happens.
With the battery removed, when the power bottom is pressed, the caps lock key on the keyboard turns white and unresponsive, the lights on the charger led keep blinking white and orange non-stop and the laptop is unable to be powered on.
I tested a different charger and removed the system battery(cr2032), but none helped, any thoughts?

Hello.
Take a look in the Maintenance and Service Guide for your model, page 81. LED blink codes are explained there.
If you still have warranty left, let HP fix it for you.
If no warranty left and still want it fixed:
If the problem is with system board, you can find replacement part numbers for the board in the Guide, and you can use parts.hp.com or just search the web for those spare parts. Or ask the HP repair shop to order these parts from HP. This is quite advanced work within the laptop innards and if you have never repaired laptops I would have someone else do it.
The replacement board can be of different type than your current one, their only difference is with the Intel CPU that is soldered into the system board. If you decide to upgrade from UMA Intel graphics to Discrete AMD graphics (or vice versa), the heat sink also needs to be replaced, its spare part also listed in the Guide.

Hi Jupitero and thank you for your answer.
Unfortunately the LED blink codes leads to a defective motherboard =(
I do not have an active warranty, so I will try to find a place that could sell me a new motherboard.
One last question for you, where can I find the Maintenance and Service Guide for other HP models?

Hello.
Sorry to hear that - the system board is typically the (second) most expensive part in a laptop - depending on what CPU it carries and which Windows license is also embedded there. (and other features)
If the availability is poor, I would personally go for used components. Accidental damage to displays is not unusual reason to discard a laptop since the screen is usually an expensive part, so looking for "wonky" used laptops may be very economical.
Maintenance and Service Guides are available for almost all past and present HP models from their website. For your model it is available at https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/setup-user-guides/hp-elitebook-840-g6-notebook-pc/26609796
Same thing with HP peripherals, all monitors, printers etc typically have a support page with guides, downloads etc.
(I typically just use a web search to a HP model support page, but you can use the search at HP.com as well for same results)
