I can't seem to get my fingerprint scanner to work on my ProBook 440 G3.

I've installed the driver from the driver page several times and even updated my BIOS. It keeps saying "We couldn't find a fingerprint scanner compatible with Windows Hello FIngerprint". I can't even find the driver in Device Manager.

I currently have Windows 10 Home installed.

What should I do to be able to use the fingerprint scanner?

Fingerprint is an option. Did you actually buy Fingerprint  option for your machine ? If NO, you can install Fingerprint  reader using part # 826380-001 from HP

Thank you for your response.

I bought it as refurbished so I have no idea if it came with the fingerprint option.

The part you referred me to is unorderable in my country.

Is there no other software fix for the issue?

Thanks again.

edit

I found out that what I thought was a fingerprint reader was actually just a metal strip that covered where the fingerprint reader is supposed to be.
