Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I tried to upgrade the firmware of my thunderbolt dock 230 w g2 to the newes version  1.0.71.1.  (December 2021)

After the upgrade process finished the DisplayPort Hub was no longer working.

When I restart the upgrade I get the report, that the DP Firmware  version is 0.0.0.0 and that the communication with the Thunderbolt Controller is no longer possible.

Is there a way to reset the firmware of the docking station?

I'm using a HP ZBook 15 firefly G8 and Windows 10 (21H2). But I don't think it's a problem with my notebooks Thunderbolt drivers, because if I plug in another Thunderbolt Dock G2 I've got no problems.

I've tried to downgrade the firmware with older versions  but I always get the Thunderbolt communication error.

Update.

After we had the same issue with several thunderbolt docks g2, we tried the solution mentioned in this post as a last resort.

And running the batch File "System_Update.bat" in the subfolder SPXXXX\Firmware\Cypress\Dependency in a cmd-prompt with admin rights reconnected the Thunderbolt controller and reinitiated the DP Hub driver.

And after that we could run HPFirmwareInstaller.exe and the upgrade worked this time.
