Hello community, 

I work in a big banking environment , and we have a lot of HP ELITE X2 G4 . 
Since the update to Windows 11 most of the front cameras of this devices stop working or have a lot of failures . The rear camera works fine and never fails .
We already tried FW update , Driver update and check if any option is blocking the access to the camera . 
Nothing solved the problem . We don't know if there is already a fix for this problem and why it is happening .
I believe that this is a incompatibility between the driver and Windows 11 . 

Can you help me with this ? and suggest any solution ? 

Maybe a newer driver or fw update that I don't know .

This is very impactful in the employees daily lives .

  • How many devices you have in total and how many are facing this issue ?
    Which update to Windows 11 you talk about ? Or you upgraded from W10 to W11 ?
  • Please, define "stop working or have a lot of failures"
  • How is the camera detected in Device Manager ?

 

Since you work in a bank environment, have you contacted your dedicated HP contact or HP Customer Support ?

First of all thank you for your answer to the topic .

  • How many devices you have in total and how many are facing this issue ? it's a lot i cant even tell .
    Which update to Windows 11 you talk about ?  It was after the 24H2 update .
  • Please, define "stop working or have a lot of failures" -  in some case It just does't work at all, others today works but tomorrow doesn't . And if you go to windows settings it keeps "jumping" like it was disconnected and connected multiple times .
  • How is the camera detected in Device Manager ? HP Full HD Camera

 

Since you work in a bank environment, have you contacted your dedicated HP contact or HP Customer Support ? We didn't try that yet . We were trying to solve it in the IT team .
