We are starting the process of distributing new G8 laptops and the docking stations. We are trying to figure out why the bitlocker screen isnt prompting the users to type in the bitlocker password once a reboot occurs. This needs to be displayed on external monitors hooked up to the laptop dock. They are having to open the laptop and type of the password. We need it to be displayed on the USB C external monitors.

@amullins

I  am not on the same environment now (retired), From my experiences NO when doing BIOS updates one enter bitlocker key we have to enter directly to the laptop screen, it is understandable because Windows must get drivers for all devices and Windows  comes after bitlocker or BIOS.

Talking with my friend from my old workplace (I stopped more than 3 years now, and I was not a PC person), they said: You have to power machine from the dock and the lid is close, you should be able to enter the bitlocker key on external screen (make it as main).

I can't test on my home machine (HP 840 G5 on HP USB-C Gen 5 dock), I can power machine ON from the dock but I will wait for the next BIOS update.

Regards.
