Hi,
do somebody know if I can replace the Intel N7260 inside my HP Elitebook 850 G1 with an Intel Wi-Fi 6 Module (for example the Intel AX200) or is the BIOS locked and didn´t allow additional cards (beside the standard one HP offered with that Notebook)?
The HP Elitebook 850 G1 comes with an 2x2 Antenna and Build in BT so the AX200 seamed to fit.

Hi:
The HP 850 G1 uses the Half mini wifi card (HMC) type slot, and the AX200 is M.2, so it won't fit.
Check the package specification section below.

Hi,
thanks for the answer. The question is more if the hardware would accept such a chip. The form factor isn´t a real issue as there is for example the fenvi AX200HMW which is a Half Mini PCI Expresscard. It used the Intel AX200 Chip but a different form factor as the original Intel one.

hm I see. Thanks for the info. Can you help me to find out if that´s the same case for the G5 device (see here)?

You're very welcome,
I think you'd have a better chance with the G5, but from the few posts I have read, it may be possible that HP is going back to the BIOS whitelists, and there are no posts that I know of where folks upgraded the wifi card in that model.
I don't know how expensive those cards are, but sometimes you just have to buy one and try it.
Another option for you, though not as fast as the AX600 would be the Intel 9260 non-VPro.
It has a maximum throughput of 1.7 GB/S and that is not too shabby anyway.
it is certainly cheap enough to experiment with.
