HP Pavilion - 15-au158nr
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop has swelled near the power button on the case. This is an old laptop, I bought in 2016. It works fine, but the crack has become worse over the last couple of months. This could be caused by the hinges or the battery swelling up. This appears to be a common issue with all HP Pavilion models. Is there a recall or refund for this specific issue? Or... do I just need to get a new laptop? The hardware is fine now, but further damage to the area will probably cause issues.

I would recommend putting the money into a new(er) notebook.  With it being that old, you'll get much more for your money buying a new machine instead of paying for case parts/hinge/battery packs that would need to be installed.
