HP ZBook 15 G3
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, 🙂

I´m in a process of buying a new workstation, the model I chose is ZBook 15 G3, in its quickspecs it states it comes with TPM 1.2/2.0, and that the TPM upgrade utility will be available by December 2015 by Customer Service.

The PN I have chosen is T7V54EA, which I believe comes with TPM 1.2, is there a way o upgrading it to TPM 2.0 ? Is this some kind of utility? Or some product key has to be purchased?

I know that CTO models have the option of upgrading TPM 1.2 to 2.0 directly out of factory, is it possible for precofigured models?

Thank you

Hi,

Please use the following utility:

   http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c05192291

Your machine is on the list. Just scroll down to the end to download and read the instructions how to install properly.

Regards.

Hi BH,

I did the TPM Upgrade with this Tool.

First I updated to the latest BIOS Version (N81_0121) as recommended.

After that I updated the TPM Firmware to Version 2.0 as described in the Documentation.

Reboot -> Firmware flash -> TPM vanished

Not present in Windows device manager.

I wanted to downgrade to 1.2 again. Regarding the documentation this is possible.

RC = 0xE0295008 (means no TPM Module was found)

In the BIOS Setup I still got the Options to configure TPM. There it says: TPM Version 2.0

But when I trigger the reset of the TPM (with physical presence enabled) nothing happens.

Just boots to OS with no TMP.

Where it's gone 😞
