I have a Studio G3 and have those versions or newer. (For example BIOS 1.07)

I 'm a bit puzzled about "Intel Thunderbolt Secure Connect Driver" as I cannot se any such version in Thunderbolt Tray Icon > Settings > Details. I have "Software package version" 15.3.39.250 and "Controller driver version" 15.3.39.1.

I don't have any "Broadcom Ethernet Controller Driver", but a "Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet" 17.2.1.0.

NVIDIA version is 354.90.

Still have the USB-port problem.

But, I really can't see that that advisory is about the problem we are experiensing. The advisory is about the computer and the dock not connecting (at least that is what I read). We have the dock connecting, but the USB ports on it working sporadicly or not.

We have a bit of both at our firm (dock not detected, sometimes USB)..

Thanks for the Customer advisory post earlier - interestingly I just did another full search in the drivers for the Studio G3 and found this sp76236:

HP Elite USB-C Docking Station Driver (American, International) 7.9.1589.0 Rev.A
6 Jun 2016 35.2

USB-C is Thunderbolt.. so I'll install this and see if it helps our intermittent issues

I would highly recommed installing Bios 1.08 which adresses Thunderbolt dock issues, and has improved display going black issues.

I applied the Studio G3 15 1.08 BIOS to our G3's but it didn't make a difference to our dock problems..

So I'm putting the Studio G3 1.07 back on now which is the latest for us

Hey Redlofredlof...

We're all aware of the advisory... there are still problems with the currently available bios and or drivers.

Expecting an additional advisory or updates soon.

1.08 didn't help me either...

I am looking into this issue Internally.

In the mean time, can you confirm if the USB ports on the DOck have ever worked?

Also, have you performed a hardware reset of the PC.

To perform a hardware reset of your notebook, follow ALL of the following steps.

A hardware reset temporarily disconnects the internal battery to fully reset the system.

  1. Power off the notebook.
  2. Remove the AC power cord from the notebook
  3. Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.

Also, make sure that the Thunderbolt Security level in the BIOS is set to "No Security"

This can be found in BIOS>Advanced>Port Options

I'm not going to walk though the official script yet another time... but for me:

Dock USB ports seemed to be more reliable prior to Bios 1.06. Unusable after.

Dock Display ports used to be extrememly broken prior to 1.07/most recent nvidia drivers.

Same problems on 5 different docks, issue seems to be releated to drivers or bios on computer.

I suspect the fact that my computer was the first one I got and had many different versions of bios/drives/etc that mine was more problematic than the other 7 in my office. Those ones are not having USB difficulties at all.

Yes, USB ports on the dock work, but fail to do so intermittently.

I've tried your hardware reset and disabled Thunderbolt security.

I see that a few have 1.08 BIOS, but looks like it got pulled and it's currently unavailable.   I'm on 1.07.

Not sure what it takes to reproduce the USB problems, as I am not seeing a clear pattern for when it freezes, stops working, or I get a stuck key behavior.    However, this is happening a couple of times each day for me and many others.

Hello everyone.

Here is another Support Update in regards to the doc issues being reported.

BIOS 1.09 for The ZBook 15 G3 and 17 G3, as well as 1.11 for Studio are in final test.

So far, testing is going well. If this continues throughout the day, these BIOS will be realeased tomorrow.
It may take time for them to appear on the web, but Softpac Download Manager should list them.

Worst case, I will post the direct links here.

I have been testing these BIOS' myself in the lab and I have great success with them.
