Hi soccer_dan I went through the whole procedure of uninstalling and installing all the reccomended drivers step by step, but my dock still doesn't work properly. It is now reccognised and at least my lan works through it now, but when I plug in my external usb drive it does recognise the drive and installs the driver but I cannot see the drive nor access it. Also the displyport drivers don't work. I tried plugging in my 2 external monitors, but I cannot use them as one of them is not reccognised at all and the other once seems to force the graphics card for a constant re-fresh.

Make sure you install the updated Intel graphics driver as well as the AMD or NVidia (depending on which you have) drivers. Also USB on the TB dock requires the ASMEdia eXtensible Host Controller Driver. In addition, check the BIOS setting for the TB dock, and see which of the 3settings is set to
Finally, do you have a Citrix receiver installed? remove it to check. if you have an older version, this can cause usb issues as well

I don't know why, but I'm failing to update to 1.11 with an USB-key. I followed the instructions, but the only option I see when selecting local media is to downgrade to 1.06.
I just put the 1.11 bios under C:\Hewlett-Packard\BIOS\NEW instead of a USB and it worked fine for me.
Unfortunately that does not work for me. I can still just downgrade to 1.06. Previously I have only upgraded with Softpaqs. Could there be something left from those upgrades (the downgrade option) that stops me from upgrading?

Hello to all,
just wanted to communicate, that after receiving a new dock and cable I have no more problems since two days. All those strange issues with USB, display, network,... etc are gone.
Maybe there is a series of mad docks out there...:smileyfrustrated:

After watching this thread for nearly a month and trying to fix things myself, I finally broke down and called HP Support expecting to get the run around from an outsourced support organization and having to navigate upstream to find someone who could help me and communicate effectively.
To my utter surprise, my call was taken after only 10 minutes on hold by a very nice guy named Phil who let me vent about my situation and then spent the next two hours on the phone with me and after 24 hours, appears to have solved the majority of the issues by getting everything in sync and up to date.
My situation: HP Zbook G3 15 with Thunderbolt Dock 200w. I had all the same problems everyone has had including screen flickering, dock being completely dead, keys repeating for no apparent reason, going into sleep mode when it shouldn't, screens locking up when going into app with Admin Elevated privileges, USB devices not working, etc.
The first thing he did was get me onto BIOS v1.09 which isn't available to everyone yet.
Then we made some changes in the BIOS to set graphics to Auto, rebooted and then set Video Memory to 128mb.
I have an NVidia card and he said that even though I had the card, we still needed the drivers for the onboard Intel Video to be installed.
Then we revisited all the drivers and found that although I had "downloaded/installed" via HP Softpaq manager, many didn't take or we no longer installed after the update/reboot.
Going through the list of drivers from the support website and comparing to actuals on the machine and HP Softpaq Mgr, it appears that the Softpaq Mgr didn't recognize some new versions and had issues downloading the most recent.
So, after about 12 reboots/config changes, etc. we seem to have found a stable environment.
The ticket seems to be the BIOS version which could only be downloaded from a password protected site.
Can't say enough about the support experience with Phil and HP.
I have disconnected and reconnected without any issues and also went home and left the laptop running and it was in sleep mode this morning and everything worked after waking it up.
Keeping my fingers crossed...

BIOS - Zbook Studio | (BIOS) | 1.12 |
1.12 is now available for the Studio.
It isn't on the web yet as that is a whole other process, but I love you all so much I'm making it available here:
The new offical BIOS's are here. (ftp://bootlegs : PE2ri_YT@ftp.usa.hp.com - remove the spaces between the ":" in that link. I did this so it didn't tirn into this .)
Minor bug fixes, but the big one pertains to Studios without descrete graphics. 1.11 didn't play well with them sometimes.
