Hi:

Yes, the 2.5" form factor of the SA510 should work fine in your notebook.

Below is the link to the service manual.

Tanks Paul. Would you also know how can i enable PMT 2.0 and secure boot as i got these two errors while installing Windows 11. I went to bios but could not see the options to enable in bios security tab.

You're very welcome.

Your notebook's processor does not meet Microsoft's minimum hardware requirements to get the upgrade to W11 via Windows Update and the TPM 1.2 security chip cannot be upgraded to version 2.0.

How is W10 installed?  Is it in Legacy or UEFI mode?

You can check that by running the System information app in W10 and down the report will be a BIOS Mode line.

That has to indicate UEFI in order for you to enable Secure Boot.

If it is installed in legacy mode, you would have to reinstall W10/W11 in UEFI mode by booting your W10/W11 installation flash drive from the EFI USB flash drive.

If you are interested in installing W11 on your PC as is, you can read this discussion for how I upgraded several HP and Dell notebook and desktop PC's that did not meet the W11 hardware requirements to W11 22H2.

You have to use the version of the Rufus utility that I zipped up and attached in the discussion (v3.18).

If the in-place upgrade fails, you should be able to clean install W11 using the bootable W11 installation flash drive you made with Rufus.

HI Paul,

Thanks. I think it is installed in Legacy mode. Pease refer to second last screen shot. However, there one more which says "UEFI Hybrid" (Not sure if it will work).  Let me know if i need to reinstall 10 or or is it possible to install 11 directly? Also where will i get an option to enable UEFI in BIOS while reinstalling windows 10 or 11.

what do you mean by EFI USB flash drive? I know how to make bootable USB.

Also, what do you mean by If the in-place upgrade fails? how do i know when it fails?

i would be great help if you can advise. Thank you.

Yes, probably W10 is installed in Legacy mode, but you didn't look where I said to find how Windows is installed which is by running the system information app in Windows.

When you make the bootable W11 installation flash drive with Rufus, if you do an in-place upgrade no matter how W10 is installed, it should upgrade your notebook to W11.

If you want to clean install W11 with the W11 USB flash drive, change that BIOS boot mode setting to UEFI.

Then have the flash drive in a USB port, restart the PC, tap the ESC key to get the menu of options.

Select the F9 boot options menu, and from that, select the W11 installation flash drive and press the Enter key.

The notebook should boot from the W11 flash drive and you can install W11.

On a clean install, you will be asked what version of W11 you want to install.

Select W11 Pro if W10 Pro is what is installed now.

Then you will be asked to enter a product key.

Select the 'I don't have a product key' option and W11 will install and then activate after you are connected to the internet.

Since W11 will be installed in UEFI mode, you should now be able to go into the BIOS and enable secure boot.

But if you just want to do an in-place upgrade to W11, that should work fine, except you won't be able to turn on Secure Boot.

Hi Paul, I was able to install Windows 11 with the help of the instructions provided by you. Thank you so much.

However, My Bluetooth is not working anymore. I don't see Bluetooth in the device manager, I also clicked on view and show a hidden device but nothing came up. I also used msconfig option to enable it by seeing one video on youtube.  I have attached a few screenshots I attached I have tried those options.

your input is appreciated

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately, I woudn't know why that happened or how to fix it.

I have the same card in my HP 350 G1 running W11 Pro and the Intel 7260 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are present and enabled in the device manager.

The only suggestion I can offer would be to try installing the W10 Intel 7260 Bluetooth driver and hope that gets the BT to show up.

I have given this driver to other forum members since HP and Intel no longer have it for download.

The Generic mobile broadband device in your screenshot also needs a driver.

You would have to install the W8.1 driver for the model WWAN adapter your notebook came with.

Thanks Paul. Intel Wireless-AC 7260/N7260 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Driver | Driver Details | Dell US - This website did not work for me as it was asking me to "Enter your Dell Service Tag or model". However, i searched "does hp probook 640 g1 have Bluetooth" on Google and on 6th website called Softpedia "https://drivers.softpedia.com/get/BLUETOOTH/Intel/HP-ProBook-640-G1-Intel-Bluetooth-Driver-181153923... has this driver for windows 10, but still gave it a try by installing it at the same time I got a windows update. After a restart, I can see the BT in the device manager, and it's working fine for my BT ear pods. I am still not sure if it worked due to a windows update or a driver installation.

Thanks.

You're very welcome.

You missed the large blue Download button further down the Dell page I posted.

There was no need to do anything but click on that button and the file would have downloaded with no problem.
