For configuring boot options in BIOS/UEFI on your HP EliteBook 840 G5, here are the general steps you can follow:

  1. Enter BIOS/UEFI Setup:

    • Start your laptop and immediately press the Esc key repeatedly, about once per second, until the Startup menu opens.
    • Press F10 to enter the BIOS Setup Utility.
  2. Navigate to Boot Options:

    • Once in the BIOS Setup Utility, use the arrow keys to navigate to the "Advanced" or "Boot" tab, depending on the available options in your BIOS version.
  3. Configure Boot Options:

    • Find the option named "Boot Options" or similar.
    • To manually add a boot option, you may find an entry named "Add Boot Option." Select it using the Enter key.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to add a new boot entry. You will need to specify the path to the boot file, which usually resides on the EFI partition. This might require technical knowledge of your installed operating systems and their locations.
  4. Save Changes and Exit:

    • After configuring the desired boot options, press F10 to save your changes and exit the BIOS Setup Utility.

I hope this helps!

Take care and have an amazing day!
