Hi,

I believe it is possible to insert the Webcam/microfone module in your PC. I wonder if the webcam "hole" is present on the front top of the bezel, maybe covered by something. If not, you would need to create the opening.

Anyway the Webcam/microfone module has part number 686018-001 and can be found by searching online with part number.

Example:

https://www.amazon.com/s?field-keywords=686045-001

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=686045-001&_sacat=0

So you will need to remove the front bezel of display panel as you can see on page 120 number 8 of the service manual (no need to remove display assembly from the base of PC).

After removing the bezel you can follow point 12 on page 124 to remove the microfone module and replace with Webcam/microfone module. (naturally you will need the opening in the front of the bezel)

Service manual:

Hope it helps,

David

Hi, you gave me very valuable information. Thank you very much!) Yes, I have a microphone module with backlit keys, and a plastic plug is installed instead of the camera. Thanks again for the info.

Hi.

I see you have gotten farther into the project. The module should be attached with double-sided tape and you can pull out (maybe you can use an old credit card or something similar to pry it out) and replace with the camera module.

Regards,

David

Hi, yes, I know about it. I decided to take a photo, maybe my experience would be useful to someone else) A module with a camera was used, as the price of shipping a new module is very expensive to Russia.
