Hi HP Community,

I’m experiencing an issue with my HP EliteBook Notebook when connecting two external monitors (model: P2425HE).

Here’s my current setup:

  1. The first monitor is connected directly to the laptop via USB-C.
  2. The second monitor is connected through the DP (DisplayPort) port of the first external monitor.
  3. Both monitors are used in extended mode.

The issue: The second monitor blinks at irregular intervals.

Steps I’ve taken so far: Downloaded and installed the latest monitor drivers.

Despite these efforts, the blinking issue persists. I have tested the monitors with other laptops, and they work fine, so it seems specific to my setup with this laptop.

Could anyone advise on what might be causing this and how to resolve it? Your help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you.

@AMATH

Your computer does NOT have DP port. How do you connect the second monitor ? If you used HDMI from machine to DP on monitor this WON'T work UNLESS you have a bidirectional cable/adapter.

No need a bidirectional cable/adapte to connect another way around.

Regards.

Hi banhien,

Thank you for your response.

To clarify, my setup is as follows:

  1. The first monitor is connected directly to my laptop via the USB-C port.
  2. The second monitor is connected to the DisplayPort (DP) on the first monitor using a DP cable.

This means the second monitor is daisy-chained via the first monitor, not directly connected to the laptop. My understanding is that this setup should work, as the first monitor supports DP out, and the second monitor supports DP in.

If there's something specific about my laptop's capabilities or the type of cable/adapter I need, could you please advise further? I appreciate your insights.
